Regarding the YoYoJam Equinox

for those who have bought a YYJ Equinox from any stores, and got it with the regular YYJ Speed bearing, and find it weird, find it so unresponsive thinking how did John Narum actually get those string whips so easily... i got this from the YYN product page:

Notice from YoYoJam: Please be advised that this yo-yo was shipped to you with the wrong bearing installed.  The shipment you received has Speed bearings installed -- the yo-yo should have the open bearing installed for optimized offstring play.  The yo-yo will function as shipped, but for premium play, the open bearing should be installed.

although this message is from YYN's product page, i believe many got it with the normal YYJ Speed bearing installed, i think these stores that got the YYJ Equinox with the wrong bearing are working something out, so if you got yours that came with the wrong bearing, and hope to see what can be done, do check out with the store you bought from.

YoYoNation UK cm

message from Simon:
The long wait is nearly over, YoYoNation.co.uk will be launching at 9pm tonight, GMT!
It’s been a long time coming and before I even get started I want to thank everyone for their patience and enthusiasm, everyone who’s asked me questions or given me ideas, we’ve taken our time to make sure the finished article is up to the standards that you guys deserve!
So, what does the opening of our European store mean to the most important people, you our customers and friends!?
Well, it can’t be denied that since its inception, YoYoNation has had a huge effect on the yo-yo scene in the USA and beyond that, we’d like to think, the World! Bringing people the widest range of products from all over the world directly to their doorsteps and spreading the love of yo-yoing through events like the International Yo-Yo Open.
We now aim to continue this momentum by providing our European friends with a local YoYoNation presence much, much closer to home. By doing this we hope to continue to spread our love and influence to reach more and more people!
So with that in mind, YoYoNation.co.uk promises you:
• Faster, cheaper and more efficient shipping to European destinations without the worry of nasty customs and import taxes!
• A wide range of products from all manufacturers across the globe. Eventually we will provide you with the same range of products that YoYoNation US has available, but we believe we have all the major bases covered for launch. If there’s a product you’d like to see available from the US catalogue, please e-mail us at info@yoyonation.co.uk and let us know!
• E-Mail and Phone support in your time zone!
• Local exchange/repair/return facilities. Let’s face it, mistakes can happen and if they do, you can now rest assured we can make it right for you without you having to ship products all the way back to New York City.
• European EXCLUSIVE products (including one or two I’m personally very excited about)
• Increased EU involvement: It is my goal to use this opportunity to benefit and grow the yo-yo scene in the UK and Europe using all the tools at my disposal!
We also have many exciting plans to make the shopping experience a more pleasant one for those non-English speakers amongst you, so stay tuned for that!
So that’s it! A huge thank you to everyone who helped us get this far and a special thank you to all of YoYoNation’s customers and friends, without whom I certainly would not have been granted this fantastic opportunity.
I look forward to serving you all.
Cheers, Danke, Grazie, Merci, Gracias, Dêkuji, Dziekuje, Spasibo….
Simon.

YoYoNation Big Move

Hello Guys!

As you've probably heard in some form or another, there are going to be some major changes for YoYoNation and my own personal life.  They're all GREAT things and all with you in mind (you guys must be tired from runnin' through my mind all day! (no?  ok, sorry haha))!

I want to fill you in on what's to come (and what's NOT to come) in the coming months:

**************

YoYoNation.co.uk
First, YoYoNation's European arm, http://www.yoyonation.co.uk (headed by our very own Sottle) is slated to launch...QUITE SOON (we THINK 1.5 - 2 weeks!).

We're going through some testing, and after we think everything's in check, it'll be open for business!  An upcoming video will explain the reasoning behind the launch of yoyonation.co.uk.  In a nutshell, it's to serve all of you better, especially in Europe!

**************

Secret Project 2
Second, we have another project launching soon as a BETA (and a rough beta, at that).  It's been secret for a looooooong time.  Don't worry, you'll hear about this more later.

**************

The Move:
A big third...as this is personal: I am leaving New York City.  I have a one-way ticket booked for the Philippines on May 30th.  I will call Manila my home for the next Huh years.  This was a huge decision for me, and definitely not an easy one.  To those who know me personally, you probably know I absolutely love NYC.  However, an opportunity arose, and I'm jumping on it.  I'm excited, apprehensive, and eager to get started.

So here's the deal with that.  I leave on May 30th, but will be in Manila by June 1st.  My first order of business?  Get a third YoYoNation branch going...yoyonation.asia.  That's right, we'll have an Asia branch that will cater to all of the wonderful (and insanely awesome) Asian spinners.  If things work out correctly, this also probably means that we'll have 24 hour service between our three branches around the world, with less expensive, faster, and safer shipping! More importantly, we'll have three locations from which to spread the love and passion for yoyoing.  It'll be amazing.

On top of this, Manila is quite a great place to start YYN Asia...why not bring the modern yoyo from where it came?  Pedro Flores, if you hear me up there, maraming salamat po (Thank you very much!)!

**************

YOYO OPEN

Now, with this all said, there is one more major change that some might see as "negative."  I sure do.

I don't know if this comes as a surprise to you now, but here it is: We are taking a hiatus with the YOYO OPEN this year.  Yes, with the major changes ahead, there is no way we can put on a spectacle of that magnitude again.  I won't even be here (I could come back, but...not really).  However, all YOYO OPEN plans will begin for 2011, so you should expect one then!  We shall see!

Again, there will be NO YOYO OPEN in NYC this year.

**************

I hope you guys embrace these changes as I have.  Again, these were major decisions and a lot of work to put together, but know they were all made with YOU in mind...really.

Let us know your thoughts by posting a reply!  If you have any questions:

About my move / yoyonation.asia: You can e-mail me. (pat at yoyonation dot com)

About yoyonation.co.uk: You can e-mail Simon. (simon at yoyonation dot com)

About yoyonation.com in NYC after my move: You can e-mail Eugene and / or Ryan. (eugene at yoyonation dot com and ryan at yoyonation dot com)

About YOYO OPEN: You can e-mail Aaron or Duncan. (aaron at yoyonation dot com and duncan at yoyonation dot com)

Thank you all once again for supporting us!  Can you believe it's been almost five years ALREADY since we started?  Thanks again to all of you for Joining the Nation!

With utmost respect and gratitude,
Pat
