YoYoNation Big Move
Hello Guys!
As you've probably heard in some form or another, there are going to be some major changes for YoYoNation and my own personal life. They're all GREAT things and all with you in mind (you guys must be tired from runnin' through my mind all day! (no? ok, sorry haha))!
I want to fill you in on what's to come (and what's NOT to come) in the coming months:
**************
YoYoNation.co.uk
First, YoYoNation's European arm, http://www.yoyonation.co.uk (headed by our very own Sottle) is slated to launch...QUITE SOON (we THINK 1.5 - 2 weeks!).
We're going through some testing, and after we think everything's in check, it'll be open for business! An upcoming video will explain the reasoning behind the launch of yoyonation.co.uk. In a nutshell, it's to serve all of you better, especially in Europe!
**************
Secret Project 2
Second, we have another project launching soon as a BETA (and a rough beta, at that). It's been secret for a looooooong time. Don't worry, you'll hear about this more later.
**************
The Move:
A big third...as this is personal: I am leaving New York City. I have a one-way ticket booked for the Philippines on May 30th. I will call Manila my home for the next years. This was a huge decision for me, and definitely not an easy one. To those who know me personally, you probably know I absolutely love NYC. However, an opportunity arose, and I'm jumping on it. I'm excited, apprehensive, and eager to get started.
So here's the deal with that. I leave on May 30th, but will be in Manila by June 1st. My first order of business? Get a third YoYoNation branch going...yoyonation.asia. That's right, we'll have an Asia branch that will cater to all of the wonderful (and insanely awesome) Asian spinners. If things work out correctly, this also probably means that we'll have 24 hour service between our three branches around the world, with less expensive, faster, and safer shipping! More importantly, we'll have three locations from which to spread the love and passion for yoyoing. It'll be amazing.
On top of this, Manila is quite a great place to start YYN Asia...why not bring the modern yoyo from where it came? Pedro Flores, if you hear me up there, maraming salamat po (Thank you very much!)!
**************
YOYO OPEN
Now, with this all said, there is one more major change that some might see as "negative." I sure do.
I don't know if this comes as a surprise to you now, but here it is: We are taking a hiatus with the YOYO OPEN this year. Yes, with the major changes ahead, there is no way we can put on a spectacle of that magnitude again. I won't even be here (I could come back, but...not really). However, all YOYO OPEN plans will begin for 2011, so you should expect one then! We shall see!
Again, there will be NO YOYO OPEN in NYC this year.
**************
I hope you guys embrace these changes as I have. Again, these were major decisions and a lot of work to put together, but know they were all made with YOU in mind...really.
