YoYoSkeel Stalker close-up and Promo Video

YoYoSkeel Stalker!
sorry for the delay guys.
pictures...
Shakeel spend some effort on the packaging for a first timer.

the yoyo.
when i first see this yoyo, i really didn't think it'll play very well, honestly.
the shape was a little exaggerating. in fact some players feel the shape doesn't have a purpose, they told me they feel that its just a unique shape.
when Shakeel told me i'll be getting a sample, i was looking forward to try.
here i got it. i like the packaging, its fresh, it wasn't what i expected, there's effort in it.
took out the yoyo, hold it, and was like, man, it feels wide, and weird.
let down, did a quick start, take some time to get used to it if you're one who uses thumb to quick start it, probably easier if you're one who uses your 4 fingers to quickstart it.
gave a throw, it feels like the bearing doesn't fit snugly on the bearing seat, but it doesn't cause any problem, don't worry. oh yes, the Stalker comes with a Center Trac Bearing!
did some tricks, and i'm pretty amazed, it performs better than i expected.
but the shape really need some getting used to.
this yoyo handle my front style tricks pretty well, and is stable enough for them, it handles backspin pretty well, probably because of the CT bearing.
sidestyle tricks are fun, but maybe bucket style tricks are a little difficult for me, i got smaller hands. lacerations are fine, its fast, pretty stable, but i find 'whacking' it makes it tilt, i haven't got it to tilt during play, but i've seen some players trying to do very fast combo, resulting in tilting and losing spins, which doesn't happen to me, this i got to say.
it doesn't grind for me, i do finger grinds, i tried doing arm grind, and i feel it handles arm grinds better than finger, or its probably just me. i can't handle horizontal style tricks, i got some reps to try doing horizontal tricks on it, and its good, it manage to handle the tricks thrown on it.
i got some players to try it, majority told me it feels like a plastic yoyo, but thats not what i felt though.
this is all how i felt, let the video show you more what the YoYoSkeel Stalker can do.
and a little fun clip of Christopher doing Hiroyuki's trick at the end of the video, XD.

be sure to try out the yoyo, just ask for me when you see me at the meeting.

oh yes, i'm guessing YoYoSkeel is making another yoyo soon?
i'm not very sure.

Throw Grace, Catch Joy

Ed Haponik
"a yo-yo video featuring the 'polished pre-release' version of the new SPYY Ronin, a yo-yo i began designing in the autumn of 2007, and which is finally becoming a reality.

in some respects the antithesis of the 'Flying V', the Ronin sports a nearly square profile and a gap you could shop for crappy jeans in. SPYY's proprietor, Steve Buffel was able (once again) to turn my inexperienced daydreams into an exquisitely-smooth high-performance zombie-bludgeon of a yo-yo (i've beaten the absolute crap out of this thing and it's still 'cant-tell-it's-spinning' smooth).

the PPR version weighs in at 68.5g, features the CBC Center-Trac bearing and K-Pads, and will be on sale at the National Yo-Yo Contest in Chico next week."

AP 2011 etc.

Also at Eastern State Throwdown, Spinworkx's Colin revealed some information about Asia Pacific 2011.

It will be happening. Probably around March 2011. Location and country is not confirmed. (I know rumors about the location is going around. My advice is to keep those travel plans on hold till further notice) Time to start practicing!

Christopher's New Ideas

Christopher takes a break from practice @ Eastern State Throwdown to show us some new tricks he's come up with. Low quality cell phone footage but high quality invert style ideas.

Takeshi Kamisato's Exit 8

this is Exit 8.
Takeshi Kamisato's signature yoyo.
in prototype stage.

for new players.
Takeshi is the person responsible for the infamous sticker recess mod.
yes yes yes.

no specs.
no sample. not mine.
Takeshi emailed to provide some specs:
To give people an idea of the size, it is 2.06 inches in diameter and 1.667 inches wide.
heard that production will comes with small bearing too.
why?
heard that when Takeshi design this, he didn't already know Duncan does large bearing already.
so yea...
clarification from Takeshi:
Not exactly. I was fully aware that Duncan was making large bearing
yo-yos for the Screaming Eagle line, but this is my first yo-yo design
and I wanted my first signature yo-yo to be suited to my own personal
preferences. I prefer small bearing the majority of the time, BUT I
very much like large bearing yo-yos as well. I do have plans for a
large bearing Exit 8 design in the future. Hopefully the near future
:) but for now I wanted to get the ball rolling with the small
bearing version.

production will probably come with caps. YESH.
expect it to be better.
