3Yo3 Bass Line

more picture and larger reso at Flickr!
:D

been looking forward to this one since trying out the Omnicron!
Reps are waiting too, dying to try this one out.
so, i was back from school, package left on my bed, and wishing, "please be from Clearwater..."
pick up the package, have a good look, "CLEARWATER! LANDON! BASSLINE!"
immediately open the package, first thing thats falls out is the flatten box for the yoyo, and then a wrapped up Bassline, roll and roll and roll out the yoyo, that piece of plastic that wrap the yoyo was long... finally, i see the yoyo. and was like, Blue/Silver combination!
thanks Landon for sending the colors i requested! Love it!
quickly took pictures of them and try it out a little~

specs first:
Diameter: 56.40mm
Width: 41.18mm
Weight: 66.4 grams
Gap Width: 4.1mm
Response: Flowable Silicone
Bearing: C, stainless, pre-cleaned
Finish: Pyramatte finish
3Yo3, Landon Balk's first CNC machined aluminum yoyo.
if Landon's hand turned acrylic yoyos play so good, i can't imagine how the metal one's gonna play.
its a normal sized yoyo, but i don't know why, could be just me, first look, it look a little big. and then i compare it next to a Duncan wheel, about the same, but wider!
The Bassline feels good in the palm, weight feels just right in the palm.
i like the simple logo engraved on the hubs, what catches my attention is the wave thingy, on the silver half. by looking, i feel that its not rim weighted, but it feels a little bit so during play, and stable!
This one comes flowable sili-ed. unresponsive, smooth, obviously long spin-time.
something i have to admit, i don't know why, i can't seem to play fast with this. its stable yes, and doesn't tilt when attempt to play fast, but it could be just me, i can't seem to play it fast, but the feel was very nice!
grinds, they grinds. i don't think the Landon intended the yoyo for any IRG in mind, but i tried, and can be done.
the Bassline handles all the tricks i threw, lacerations, complex wristmount-ish combos, i can't do horizontal for nuts, so sorry about this, can't say about it.
one thing i tried on most yoyos, but have not mention would be finger test, this one spin soooo smoothly on finger test. no feel of vibe. you know the feel of the yoyo vibrating even though it doesn't look so... no, this one is smooth. sick.
how does it fair compared to the Omnicron?
uh... i don't have a good answer for that, i feel they're different.
but you got to try this out, you've try Landon's acrylic yoyo, you should try this out.
ask for me in meetings if you wanna test it out.
Reps, i'll get you to try it, no worries.
Landon, great yoyo! thanks!

3Yo3 Bassline

although its just for fun, but it already shows that Landon's interested in making metal some day,  or am i the only one that think this way? but heck it does not matter! here comes the CNC machined 3Yo3 Bassline!

Landon Balk:
My first metal, (6061 aluminum) and my first non-hand-made (CNC) yoyo as well. Here's the lowdown:
56.43mm dia
41.10mm wide
4.11mm gap
C bearing (.5x.25x.1875), stainless precleaned. Same as all the other 3yo3's
66.4g
Flow-Groove response, 1drop silicone stickers are in place in the pictures for testing, will most likely come w/ flowable.

Finish is probably the tried & true soda blasting, and then anodized, followed with some sweet laser engraving.

Story on the name- 3yo3 (named after the Roland TB-303 *Bass Line* synth)

I had help in the CAD drawing stage by non other than Ernie Kaiser, he touched up the drawing so it would weigh what it does now.

pictures pictures pictures!
I love the Omnicron and would love to see how this plays!
