Yo-yoing has been traditionally viewed as the sport that features a player reeling a yoyo up and down a string. Well, we wouldn’t blame them for thinking that way as yo-yoing has been around since about 500BC. However, the amazement of the crowd on how the sport has evolved as they witness the biggest local Professional Yo-yoing contest of the year is evident that it is an event never to be missed.

The Singapore Yo-Yo Championships (SYYC) will be at its 6th year in 2008 featuring local professionals battling it out live on stage to be crowned the Singapore Champion. Each year’s event consists of 4 different main divisions as well as a pro-amateur division that will feature new players on their road to be professionals.

Anyone need not be a seasoned yoyo player to be a part of SYYC. Spectators can also expect to be involved during the event with numerous fringe activities for the entire family as well as free training workshops conducted during the two days event.

SYYC has came a long way and has been the driving force to local talents to excel in achieving world-class standards and recognition. Local talents who have benched marked in being top few in the region and even the world has walked this path.
