Shinwoo Hi-Power Plastics 2010
remember the entry about the new improved plastic yoyos from Shinwoo?
here's a closer look at them, just got these from Shine, thanks Shine/Shinwoo for the testers.
the difference here is the pad response, they now uses one standard blue rubber ring pad response, unlike last time, using 3 types of pad, green one that come with all the stock yoyos, blue one which is less responsive, and black one which is the smoothest, most unresponsive.
the new rubber pad is very effective, the new Phantom is not snaggy at all, very smooth, very nice.
i like it alot, i didn't like my old Phantom that much because it was rather snaggy.
u can also silicone it yourself, the groove is pretty deep and no very thin.
below is the comparison between the old Phantom(left), and the new one(right).
the rest of the yoyo's innards is about the same, so i didn't take pictures of it for the rest.
before i move on, all the new Shinwoo plastic range also uses the standard response system now, the rubber ring pad that can be turn around for different response pattern:
starburst-ish.
flat rubber.
and also still using the adjustable gap spacer system. just flip to the other side and u get a higher bearing seat.
move on to the Zan Navi.
the new Zan Navi uses hard rubber, which means when drop/bounce, it does not bounce away from u, think aquarius/hayabusa SL/flying panda/viper/xodus. it bounce but stay on the spot, think hayabusa/big yo. some people prefer hard rubber style, especially our local players here.
also, the old Zan Navi uses the fixed(i think not replaceable) rubber pad:
the new one, well, uses the new rubber ring pads.
fun for both 1A and 4A, i don't 5A, sorry.
the old Zan Navi response wasn't exactly snaggy as it was really rubberish, feels plastic to me, but i o prefer this new response. honestly, i would prefer the new Griffin Wing to the Zan Navi in terms of the shape, but its still really fun to play with, probably because its still narrower compared to other 4A yoyos. but the new hard rubber rims is a plus plus. players will still like it, its just me.
it feels a little heavy on the rims, pretty solid feel, long spins, really fun 4A yoyo but i prefer something slightly, just slightly wider. the old one have caps issues, when drop on hard impact, the caps will come off, so far the new one have not, so i can't have say on that.
now, Griffin Wing, my preferred Shinwoo 4A yoyo.
standard, change of response to the new one.
and yes, hard rubber wings too, think Aquarius, but bounce like Hayabusa.
it does not bounce away from u.
like the other Shinwoo plastics, the Griffin Wing also uses duncan size bearing.
with adjustable gap spacers.
i really like the Griffin Wing aside from the Hayabusa.
i like the old one, but the response wasn't really what i wanted, and the soft rubber wings either.
but the new one has the response that was smooth, but stil 'eats' the string, and hard rubber wings, its what i wanted. but the caps do still come off when drop on a hard impact, but i rather play without it, its slightly bigger and wider than the aquarius. feels a little heavy but fast.
u love your aquarius, but its discontinued, u may like this.
will try to make a video of these asap.
