Off Stage Yoyo Battle 2009 @ HongKong

Hi everyone,

This is YiuSiuHo from HongKong and I'd like to share a event that I'll be holding in this December.

Off Stage Yoyo Battle 2009 is a yoyo contest with new system. Instead of doing “Freestyle” on stage and judges “click” points, Off Stage is a 1 on 1 battle contest. It sounds like DXL Battle or other yoyo battles but this time contestants are not going on stage. 2 contestants will be standing in the center of the crowd and perform with random music (just like many bboy or hiphop dance battle). The reason of not using stage is it'd become stage performance if players go up on stage 1 by 1. Battle is about looking at your enemy and beat him/her by yoyo tricks.

It aims to develop yoyo players’ music sense and the ability of doing “REAL FREESTYLE”. Somehow I think the word "freestyle" is no longer applicable to normal yoyo contest as we just do routine with our music choice.

Sorry the event is in HongKong not America. However I'd like to share my thought and concept that some people may not aware. This is probably the first yoyo contest that not run by companies/organization but players.
